Acid is important, but it can be really frustrating.
If
you're cleaning the battery contact points on an electronic device (for
example, I cleaned an old remote today), take some white vinegar, pour
some on an old (or new) toothbrush, and scrub the contact points. Takes
the battery acid right off! I've used coca cola on vehicle batteries,
and it works, but white vinegar seems to work better, if you have access
to some. It's cheaper than Coke too!
Disclaimer:
you might want to use gloves and eye protection gear, the scrubbing
could flick some acid onto your skin or your eyes. Totally up to you!
