My
first girlfriend aborted our baby without even consulting me first.
Afterwards, I was told it's not my place, by her, her family, and by
people on here. My word means nothing. You're a man, shut your mouth. A
few years later, she got pregnant again. When she was 4 months pregnant,
we got into a fight and mutually broke up. We texted each other for the
next few weeks, and it was my plan to stay in touch both on the phone
and in person, because that was the right thing to do for the baby. I
wanted to be there for the both of them, and be a father. She texted me
out of the blue saying she got an abortion. For the those 3 weeks she
tricked me into believing she was having the baby while also planning
the abortion behind my back.
The
next woman I got pregnant years later threatened to abort our baby when
we got into a fight (the only fight we ever had). It was at this point I
felt more helpless then I ever felt in my life. I became extremely
paranoid. I thought to myself what if every woman I'm ever with decides
to abort, there is literally nothing i can do. It's out of my hands, and
it's grossly unfair. You're told "that's just how it is". AND THAT IS
THE WAY IT IS. She's the one having to hold the baby for 9 months, and
she's the one that has to give birth. Whenever we bring up "well the
woman can choose, and men can't", we're always told "that's because
women are the one's giving birth, so they have the right to choose, you
don't. Blame nature". And they're fucking right.
For
men out there who feel similar feelings, or have gone through similar
experiences, stop bickering in the pro-life/pro-choice debate. It's
useless. It will never end. The only way we as men can finally have true
equality in the reproductive world, and take back some control, is if
artificial wombs are created and used on a mass scale. Support the
companies that are creating them, either with letters or financially.
Let them know how much this means to you.
It's
not just for abortion, fathers have no control over whether or not the
mother smokes, drinks, does drugs while she is pregnant with the baby.
With artificial wombs, you can be certain your baby is not being harmed
as it is developing. It's time to ditch the debates that will never
end, and instead we should be focusing on artificial wombs.
